I believe that our residents needs are at the very centre of everything we do; how fortunate we are to be able to enjoy over 10,000 years of history all about us every day at Mareeba. What a privilege it is to be surrounded by such a magnificent library of real life stories.

I love being part of a team that is committed to providing a home like environment for our residents and their families, and supporting our team to feel valued in a harmonious work environment.
Mandy (RN)
It’s the culture of Mareeba that impresses me the most, the way that the residents needs are always put first and the way that this priority influences the way the team looks after one another.
Leanne (Kitchen/Coffee shop)
I love coming to work because the people I work with are great, I enjoy all my day to day interactions with the residents, their families and the team.

Thank you to all the staff for all the support and care you all showed to us as Tursa Trainees. We enjoyed the experience and learnt so much from those we worked alongside of, it was all very much appreciated.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our training; it is greatly appreciated. Feedback from our students on their time at Mareeba has been extremely positive. We look forward to working with you again soon.

I love working here because I know I make a positive difference every day in the lives of the residents, but also because of the lessons they teach me each and every day. I find this to be the most rewarding job I’ve ever held.
We received a lovely letter from Wendy Feneley who had undertaken a placement at Mareeba Aged Care as part of her studies. Here is an excerpt:
First and foremost I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and Gillian for the privilege of undertaking my work placement with you here at Mareeba. I have gained so much knowledge from the staff and made many new friendships with both staff and residents.
I feel very fortunate to have worked with such dedicated people in such a very professional organisation and environment. You have a wonderful team of well organised, professional, caring and dedicated people to which anyone would be very proud to be part of.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with you all – my ambitions of being an AIN has been accelerated beyond my expectations. I have enjoyed and embraced every opportunity to learn and grow as a nurse and a person. I have found the interaction with the residents extremely rewarding and self satisfying. I feel they give just as much to us and we to them.
Please extend my thanks to the staff which have been extraordinary in their approach to teaching and helping me. A special mention to Glenda Fisher who went beyond to make sure I was part of this wonderful team.
